Professionals like CA, CS or CWA, will have to use for certifying and filing of forms and returns with Registrar of Companies (ROC). Since all the forms and returns are filed in electronic mode, signing of these documents with digital signature is compulsory. These digital signatures are issued by the authorized dealers of the certifying authorities for the period of one to two year validity.
The digital signature is available in two forms,
1) .pfx file in soft copy form
2) Digital signature installed in USB token
.pfx file is a soft copy file which can be transmitted, copied and saved in any computer and used for signing with the assigned password.
USB token is to be connected to the computer while signing with the assigned password and this cannot be copied from the USB token.

No one can suspect or trace this unauthorized certification. He may also use this for wrong or incorrect certification. Therefore it is very important to keep the digital signature safe and secured.
